Groups Migration API overview

The Groups Migration API manages the migration of shared emails frompublic folders and distribution lists to Google Groups's discussion archives.The Groups Migration API lets you store group email messages in thecloud and make it available to the server. All group members who have access tothe group's archive can view the migrated messages, but the emails aren'tdelivered to individual group members.

The Groups Migration API is for the migration of shared emails toGoogle Groups. If a group is suspended, hasn't been created, or has read-only access, theGroups Migration API returns an error. For more information about howto identify and fix these errors, see theDirectory API,theGroups Settings API,andWays to create groups.

Warning: The Groups Migration API doesn't support data locationpolicies requiring data to be stored in specific geographic or politicalboundaries for contractual reasons. Don't use theGroups Migration API if data location is required for your account.
