Style a boundary polygon

  • This example highlights the boundary polygon of a single region on a map using the Maps JavaScript API.

  • It utilizes theFeatureLayer to style the boundary with a purple fill and border for a specific place ID (Hana, HI).

  • The sample code is provided in TypeScript and JavaScript, allowing developers to choose their preferred language.

  • Users can explore the sample through JSFiddle, Google Cloud Shell, or by cloning the repository and running it locally.

This example map demonstrates highlighting the boundary polygon for a singleregion.

Note: Read theguide on using TypeScript and Google Maps.

JavaScript

letfeatureLayer;asyncfunctioninitMap(){// Request needed libraries.(awaitgoogle.maps.importLibrary('maps'));// Get the gmp-map element.constmapElement=document.querySelector('gmp-map');// Get the inner map.constinnerMap=mapElement.innerMap;// Get the feature layer.featureLayer=innerMap.getFeatureLayer(google.maps.FeatureType.LOCALITY);// Define a style with purple fill and border.constfeatureStyleOptions={strokeColor:'#810FCB',strokeOpacity:1.0,strokeWeight:3.0,fillColor:'#810FCB',fillOpacity:0.5,};// Apply the style to a single boundary.featureLayer.style=(options)=>{if(options.feature.placeId=='ChIJ0zQtYiWsVHkRk8lRoB1RNPo'){// Hana, HIreturnfeatureStyleOptions;}};}initMap();
Note: The JavaScript is compiled from the TypeScript snippet.
