ee.String.aside

  • Theaside method calls a provided function with the current object as the first argument and returns the same object for chaining.

  • It is useful for debugging or inserting side effects within a method chain.

  • The method accepts the function to call and optional additional arguments.

  • Examples show how to useaside in JavaScript and Python, including with variable arguments and within method chains.

Calls a function passing this object as the first argument, and returning itself. Convenient e.g. when debugging:
