ee.Geometry.Point.withinDistance

  • ThewithinDistance method returns true if two geometries are within a specified distance of each other.

  • This method can be applied to aPoint geometry and takes the other geometry, the distance threshold, optional maximum error, and optional projection as arguments.

  • The distance is in meters if no projection is specified, otherwise it is in the units of the specified projection.

  • Examples are provided for both JavaScript and Python to demonstrate the usage of the method.

Returns true if and only if the geometries are within a specified distance.

projProjection, default: nullThe projection in which to perform the operation. If not specified, the operation will be performed in a spherical coordinate system, and linear distances will be in meters on the sphere.
