Non-standard: This feature is not standardized. We do not recommend using non-standard features in production, as they have limited browser support, and may change or be removed. However, they can be a suitable alternative in specific cases where no standard option exists.
TheWindow.scrollMaxX
read-only property returns themaximum number of pixels that the document can be scrolled horizontally.
Value
A number.
Examples
// Scroll to right edge of the pagelet maxX = window.scrollMaxX;window.scrollTo(maxX, 0);
Notes
Do not use this property to get the total document width, which is not equivalent towindow.innerWidth + window.scrollMaxX,becausewindow.innerWidth
includes the width of any visible verticalscrollbar, thus the result would exceed the total document width by the width of anyvisible vertical scrollbar. Instead usedocument.body.scrollWidth
. See alsowindow.scrollMaxY
