This feature is well established and works across many devices and browser versions. It’s been available across browsers since July 2015.
TheHTMLUListElement interface provides special properties (beyond those defined on the regularHTMLElement interface it also has available to it by inheritance) for manipulating unordered list (<ul>) elements.

Inherits properties from its parent,HTMLElement.
HTMLUListElement.typeDeprecatedA string value reflecting the
typeand defining the kind of marker to be used to display. The values are browser dependent and have never been standardized.HTMLUListElement.compactDeprecatedA boolean value indicating that spacing between list items should be reduced. This property reflects the
compactattribute only, it doesn't consider theline-heightCSS property used for that behavior in modern pages.
