This feature is well established and works across many devices and browser versions. It’s been available across browsers since July 2015.
Thevalue property of theHTMLOptionElement interface represents the value of the<option> element as a string, or the empty string if no value is set. It reflects the element'svalue attribute, if present. Otherwise, it returns or sets the contents of the element, similar to thetextContent property.
