This feature is well established and works across many devices and browser versions. It’s been available across browsers since October 2017.
TheHTMLDataElement interface provides special properties (beyond the regularHTMLElement interface it also has available to it by inheritance) for manipulating<data> elements.

valueHTML attribute, containing a machine-readable form of the element's value.
