Deleting Chrome Web Store developer accounts

This page describes how to delete a CWS account—either a developer or grouppublisher account.

About account deletion

Items in the Chrome Web Store are associated with developer and publisheraccounts. There are a few things you need to understand before you delete anaccount:

  • Account deletion is permanent. There is no "undo" for this action.
  • You can't delete an account that still has published items. If you havepublished items, make sure tounpublish them before youtry and delete the account.
  • Group publisher accounts can only be deleted by the owner or manager of theassociated Google Group.

How to remove a store listing item

Visit thedeveloper dashboard. Click the item you want toremove from the store, so that the edit page for that item appears. Then clickthe "more options" icon in the top right-hand corner and selectUnpublish.Your listing will no longer be visible in the store.

Warning: Re-publishing an extension that has been previously unpublished requires you to submit a new version, which needs to go through the review process again.

How to delete a developer account

To delete a developer account, first make sure you'veunpublished any published items. Then, go to theDeveloper Account sectionon the Chrome Web StoreDeveloper Dashboard:

ClickDelete developer account to permanently delete the developeraccount.

How to delete a group publisher account

To delete agroup publisher account, select it using the"Publisher" pulldown at the top of the account page, then proceed as describedabove. Make sure that you haveunpublished any itemsassociated with the group publisher account.

With the group publisher account selected, you'll see aGroup publisheraccount section:
