Register a single device

You need a registered device to create a development or ad hoc provisioning profile. To register a device using your developer account, you need to have the device name and device ID.

Notes:

  • If you useautomatic signing, Xcode registers connected devices for you. Xcode Server can also be configured to register connected devices.

  • When registering an Apple silicon Mac for development, always provide the provisioning UDID.

Required role:Account Holder or Admin.

  1. InCertificates, Identifiers & Profiles, click Devices in the sidebar, then click the add button (+) on the top left.

  2. Select the platform, enter a device name, and the Unique Device Identifier (UDID).

  3. Click Continue.

  4. Review the registration information, then click Register.
