So as many of you know, I do a lot of work with Azure Government, and specifically that’s because my day job is supporting customers in the Justice and Public Safety market. As such Azure Government becomes my bread and butter quickly as I deal with CJIS and other compliance requirements for that space.

To that end, its been a really exciting start to 2020, as with this past month we saw a lot of services go GA or Preview in Azure Government for government customers (and the ISVs who support them) to take advantage of. So here’s a rundown of all the announcements I’ve seen.

• Announcing availability of Azure Sentinel, Azure AD Domain Services and DDoS Protection in Azure Government
• Azure Government releases 40+ new services, nearing parity with Azure commercial
• New networking services in Azure Government
• New container and compute options in Azure Government
• Power Apps and more new services for web apps in Azure Government
• New fully managed SQL and reserved storage for Azure Government customers
• Accelerate modernization with new migration services in Azure Government
• Expanding management and governance services in Azure Government
• New AI and Machine Learning services in Azure Government
• New Azure services for mission-critical analytics
• New services in Azure Government to enhance your security posture
• IPv6 for Azure Virtual Network is now generally available
• Application Gatway v2 now in Virginia / Arizona / Texas
• Azure Government continues to expand FedRAMP High coverage
• Azure Blueprint for FedRAMP High is now available in Azure Government and Public clouds

That’s a lot of announcements, and honestly its great to see this level of commitment towards supporting government and higher compliance workloads moving forward.
