MySQL Server supports a keyring that enables internal server components and plugins to securely store sensitive information for later retrieval. SeeSection 8.4.4, “The MySQL Keyring”.
As of MySQL 8.0.16, thekeyring_keys table exposes metadata for keys in the keyring. Key metadata includes key IDs, key owners, and backend key IDs. Thekeyring_keys table doesnot expose any sensitive keyring data such as key contents.
Thekeyring_keys table has these columns:
KEY_IDThe key identifier.
KEY_OWNERThe owner of the key.
BACKEND_KEY_IDThe ID used for the key by the keyring backend.
Thekeyring_keys table has no indexes.
TRUNCATE TABLE is not permitted for thekeyring_keys table.
