A24’s Shifts Release Date For Alex Garland’s ‘Civil War’ To Earlier In April

EXCLUSIVE:A24 is taking an opportunity with a blank spot on the calendar for a wide release, April 12, and moving itsAlex Garland movieCivil Warto that weekend.
The action film, about a near-fractured America balanced on a razor’s edge, was originally set to go on April 26, but now A24 will have access to Imax auditoriums on its new date. The movie starring Kirsten Dunst also moves away from a weekend that had the Zendaya-starring tennis dramedyChallengers from Amazon MGM Studios and Lionsgate’sUnsung Hero.
Civil Waralso stars Wagner Moura (Narcos), Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla), Stephen Henderson (Dune), Sonoya Mizuno (Ex Machina), Jesse Plemons (Power of the Dog) and Nick Offerman (The Last of Us).
A24 produced the film alongside Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich of DNA and Gregory Goodman.

Is anyone else kinda horrified by the preview that seems to have an alliance between California and Texas? Seriously, my suspension of disbelief just cannot reconcile that craziness. It basically invalidates the entire film.
Sorry, does no one connected with this film understand that no one living in 21st century USA is even remotely likely tonaccept that CA and TX would ever form an alliance.…

Well if you’re hoping that changes with Alex Garland I have some bad news.

Garland can pretty much do no wrong in my book, aside from The Beach, I’ve enjoyed all of his output, particularly his genre work from 28 Days Later onwards.
It never gets mentioned enough and ,lest we forget, he was also responsible for one of the greatest comic book adaptations with his film Dredd.
I’ll be sure to see this, his latest opus, in IMAX! - boris
This is one of those movies that nobody see in theater, but everybody would want to check on streaming.
