EXCLUSIVE: DC Comics superheroes are uniting in a potential new drama series at the CW, a
spinoff from hitsArrow andThe Flash that will feature several fan-favorite recurring actors/characters from both shows. I have learned that the network has teamed withArrow creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim for a project eyed for next season toplined by Brandon Routh, Victor Garber,Wentworth Miller and Caity Lotz.
The untitled project, now in development, is described as a superhero team-up show. Routh, Miller and Garber will reprise their popular DC Comics characters —Arrow‘s Ray Palmer/The Atom (Routh),Flash villain Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Miller), andFlash‘s Dr. Martin Stein (Garber). Because herArrow character Sara Lance was killed off, with her sister Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) taking over as the Black Canary, it is unclear whether Lotz will play the same or new superhero.
The project is in early stages of development, so there is a possibility for otherArrow/Flash characters to cross over to the new spinoff. Additionally, in a tidbit that should get fans fired up, I have learned the new project will include three major DC Comics characters who have never appeared in a TV series.
This is the project CW presidentMark Pedowitz vaguely referenced at TCA in January. It will not be part of the current pilot cycle. With the creative auspices and talent involved, I hear that it could go straight to series, possibly for next midseason.

Teaming up superheroes has been a winning formula, as proven by the success of the Justice League and The Avengers comics. Marvel’sThe Avengers have crossed over to features, with DC’s Justice League also on its way to the big screen. Routh is repped by UTA and Main Title, Lotz is repped by UTA and Atlas Artists.

I don’t mind the team up show at all. Though they should wait until season 2 of Flash is over

Ugh! Before launching yet ANOTHER superhero show, shouldn’t these show runners be taking care of the the one that started it all? Arrow? It’s a complete mess. I love the show, but I am seriously struggling with what is going on right now. The story is weak, the sidelining of characters to prop others is to a beyond ridiculous point, as is the use of popular characters to prop others—lame and uncreative and I’m not even getting into Laurel. This is a wonderful example — http ://www .themovienetwork. com/article/arrows-transparent-greed-ray-palmer-spinoff

Guess I’m new to “comic book” characters (aside from reading my brothers’ comics as a child–I do like some of the fairly recent “comic book” films at this point.) Since people writing (here) on this topic seem to know so much about such characters, I’m curious about something… What would you think if the “superwomen” (t.v. or film) were to wear shoes they could actually fight in? My own opinion is that it would be awesome. I’m just wondering why, in this modern age, “Suerwomen” don’t seem to wear shoes they can really “kick butt” in. Any opinions?

It looks fantastic, too many villains, superheoes, my head is spinning. However, I wondering what will happenned to the Flash/Captain Cold nemesis storyline. Afterall, Captain Cold is Flash’s main enemy , he has to appear from time to time or be recurrent. I know I’m giving away options to the writters by writing so but they have to choose among these afterall to be logical.
I’m curious to know what kind of storyline will the new show have. - RoscoLittle
I was worried that both an Atom show and a Firestorm show couldn’t fly with the current Arrow and The Flash shows. This is a better than expected alternative. And like Justice League Unlimited, The Batman Season 5, Batman: The Brave And The Bold and the final seasons of Smallville, we will get a rotating cast of DC heroes. Boo-Yah!
