Veteran TV/film/voice actorPatrick Warburton has been tapped as host of the 41stAnnie Awards set for February 1 at UCLA’s Royce Hall. Warburton, who became known for playing Elaine’s on-and-off boyfriend onSeinfeld, has been the voice behind the characters on numerous animated series includingFamily Guy, Hercules,and Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command. His film credits includeThe Emperor’s New Groove, Chicken Little, The Wild, Bee Movie, andTed. TheAnnie Awards honor overall excellence as well as individual achievement in 30 categories ranging from best feature, production design, character animation and effects animation to storyboarding, writing, music, editing and voice acting.

And don’t forget, while not an animated comic hero show, Warburton was also The Tick!. On the animated side he was a very funny wolf on the animated movies Hoodwinked!

Aaaaand he starred in six seasons of “Rules of Engagement,” a network television show successful enough to be currently in wide syndication, which inexplicably the industry and press tend to under-rate and forget.

I agree. Rules of Engagement was never amazing, but it was consistently good. I don’t think it had a single bad episode.
