EXCLUSIVE: The girls are rising onThe Big Bang Theory this season. The CBS comedy — which just upped costar Melissa Rauch to a full-fledged series regular — has rewardedMayim Bialik with a similar bump. The formerBlossomstar made her debut as Sheldon’s quasi-girlfriend in last season’s finale andreturned this fall on a recurring basis. Like Rauch, Bialik’s new deal is for this season only and — unlike the show’s central quintet — doesn’t call for her to appear in all episodes produced. Still, her promotion brings the number of female regulars onBig Bang to 3, improving the balance between the sexes on the comedy series which has 4 male regulars.Michael Ausiello will be contributing to Deadline.com and Movieline.com as he preps for the January launch of a newTV-centric website.

Big Bang Theory producers – what in the world were you thinking by making Amy a regular character. I have been a fan since the beginning and participate on a number of fan sites, and the majority of fans can’t stand Amy.
Perhaps with a different actress the character would not have been quite so awful. Jim Parsons plays a similar character with tons of charm, whereas Mayim is robotic and lacks even a modicum of humanity in the role. She just sucks all the funny out of the show.
She is ruining the show and is just not funny. I don’t know how much longer I can stand to watch BBT if she’s going to be on it all the time. Which is a shame because it was my favorite comedy.

As for me, I’m interested in knowing exactly what is going on libido-wise with Sheldon. Is he asexual? Does he have no urges at all in this department? The current premise can only go so far without further clarification.

Very disappointed!!!!!! She is the most unnecessary addition to the show. She is a caricature, I don’t like her. She is not good and the character she plays is not endearing like the others. What are they thinking ? What are they are trying to accomplish ?
I love Bernadette she is perfect. It was just enough with her.
