Helena Kosmatos, the young girl known asFury, has a premonition that she saw a giant version of arobot namedMekanique attack and slaughter the entire assembledAll-Star Squadron. Her guardians,Johnny Quick andLiberty Belle, decide to take Helena to theirheadquarters to find out.Tsunami appears untoNeptune Perkins and reveals that her family has been taken into aJapanese interment camp and she now seeks his help.The Royal Canadian Air Force deal with a mysterious flying man in a furry cape, who turns out to beFlying Fox.TNT andDyna-Mite deal withNazi saboteurs planning to blow up a dam inIndian Creek,Colorado, which results in TNT being killed and his soul being taken byGudra theValkyrie toValhalla."Iron" Munro comes to the rescue of Dyna-Mite, but is unable to save his partner TNT from Gudra.

• Helena's premonition comes true inYoung All-Stars Annual #1, though in a fashion different from how she saw it: Mekanique actually shrunk the members of the All-Star Squadron and led them into the basement to fight against them in the model of a then-future metropolitan city.
• This story, although not exactly the first post-Crisis All-Star Squadron story written (that honor goes toAll-Star Squadron #64), is the first one that follows the events inAll-Star Squadron #60.
