Synopsis

The double emerged from the dimension of Quarm following an accident with aKryptonite energy-harnessing machine that renders all Kryptonite on Earth into harmless iron. Superman discovers that this duplicate of himself is draining him of all his powers and is also intending to take over as Superman near the storyline's end. It is during this storyline that Clark Kent is made a news anchor forWGBS News, which he remains as in addition to being a news reporter for theDaily Planet untilJohn Byrne'sThe Man of Steel (Volume 1) reboot in 1986.
