Ocean Master (real nameOrm Marius) is the sadistic, cruel and ruthless former king ofAtlantis who tried to start a war against the Surface to take control of the planet until he was confronted by his half brother,Arthur Curry.

History

King of Atlantis

Orm Marius was born as the Crown Prince ofAtlantis, the son of KingOrvax Marius and QueenAtlanna, after she returned to Atlantis due to her defection. Because Orvax discovered the existence ofArthur Curry, a half-human son of Atlanna, he decided to sacrifice her to the creatures of theTrench,Atlanteans turned into monsters. Since then, Orm generated a hatred for his half-brother, blaming him for their mother's execution. Orvax began to educate Orm, turning him into a skilled and ruthless warrior who would eventually become the King of Atlantis. Planning a war against the surface, Orm devised a plan to unite the kingdoms of Atlantis to create a war and become the Ocean Master.^[1]

Involving himself in royal affairs, Marius participated in various war sports, becoming champion in trident combat five times, earning the title of 8th Dan Nautilus in Xebel-Fu combat, and winning the Coral Heart medal. During that time, Orm proposed to theXebelian princess,Mera, who disagreed with his ideals of starting their war. When theNew GodSteppenwolf and hisParademons began attacking the Atlanteans to get theMother Box, a relic guarded by the Atlanteans, Orm refused to do anything about it, as he continued with his plans for their war.^[1][2]

War against the Surface

In 2018, Orm contacted the pirateJesse Kane to steal a submarine, theStalnoivolk, to attack the palace of Atlantis and demonstrate that humans were seeking a war against Atlantis, holding a meeting with the king of the Xebelians and Mera's father,Nereus. Because Nereus did not seek to join him, Orm carried out his indirect attack, causing several Xebelians and Atlanteans to die, protecting several to maintain his gang, managing to form an alliance with Nereus, who decided to take revenge on the surface. Orm, with his new alliance with Nereus, launched numerous attacks that devastated parts of the surface and rewarded the late Jesse's vengeful son,David Kane.

After learning of the arrival of Arthur Curry, Orm ordered several soldiers to go after him and bring him before his presence in the palace, scolding him for having come illegally, humiliating him for being of mixed blood, showing him the atrocities of humanity against the sea as the pollution, the dumped garbage and the toxic liquids that killed both marine creatures and Atlanteans. Arthur quickly confronted Orm, urging him to face each other in the Battle of Kings, which Orm gladly accepted, in order to prove that he was the true King of Atlantis, agreeing to teach him the customs of the duel he was entering, ordering his faithful vizier,Vulko, prepare Arthur to go to the Ring of Fire.

Before the duel, Orm chatted with Mera, giving her a bracelet belonging to Atlanna, discussing his ideals of war before meeting Arthur. Orm spoke to Arthur about Atlantean culture, giving him the opportunity to flee, however, Arthur refused, becoming disappointed with the monster his brother became, so Orm opened the Ring of Fire to begin the duel between them. During the duel, Orm used his water combat techniques, while attacking him with his trident, attempting to kill him. Earlier in the lava, Arthur pushed himself up and pushed Marius, who used his trident to throw a lava rock at him. Arthur was able to knock her down, so both brothers propelled themselves, ready to hit each other. Due to the impact, Marius gained the advantage, raising the duel towards the rocks, where he continued fighting his brother. In his desperate attempt to finish him off, Orm ferociously attacked Arthur, destroying his trident and attempted to kill him until Mera stopped him.

Frustrated by his fiancée's betrayal, Orm and the Altantis force began a chase towards Arthur and Mera, trying to kill them in dishonor, but in his quest to finish them off, he saw the duo presumably die. Despite what he saw, Orm, using the tracker he placed in the bracelet, discovered that Mera was still alive, demanding that the soldiers follow them and arrest the two fugitives. To trap them on the surface, Orm recruited David, giving him the weaponry necessary to kill them.

Continuing with his plan to unify the next kingdoms, Orm, Nereus and Vulko tried to recruit the king of the Kingdom of the Fishermen, King Ricou, who was reluctant to war, stating that they would befriend the humans when they met. Frustrated that Ricou refused, Orm unleashed a fight against him, ruthlessly killing him and forcing his heir, Scales, to join him. Continuing his search with theKingdom of the Brine, Orm realized that Vulko was friends with Arthur, taking it as a betrayal on his part, ordering his guards to take him to a prison. Orm finally came close to becoming the Ocean Master now that he had control of three Kingdoms, beginning a fierce battle against the Brine when they refused to join him, directly attacking theBrine King to get him to accept. Before killing the Brine King, Orm was confronted by Arthur, who was empowered with theTrident of the kingAtlan, commanding a large army of sea creatures and the powerful caretaker of the Trident,Karathen.

Orm attempted to attack Arthur, who threw him to a surface platform. Both brothers confronted each other, then led to a second duel, in which Curry gained the advantage by fighting in his element. After being subdued by Curry towards the platform's propellers, Marius continued to refuse to give up the throne of Atlantis, so he began to use a special technique with the trident. Knocked down, Orm tried to attack Arthur, but he ended up breaking Orm's trident, threatening him to give in, demanding to be killed, although Arthur refused because he did not follow his customs, showing him that Atlanna was still alive, moving Orm. After listening to his mother, Orm accepted that both the land and the ocean were one world and agreed to be arrested for his crimes in a distant prison, causing Arthur to become the new King of Atlantis.^[1]
