Malefic is the twin brother and arch-nemesis ofMartian Manhunter. Having mind-raped his brother's wifeM'yri'ah, he was stripped of his telepathy and otherMartian abilities by theCouncil of Mars. Taking revenge on the society that shunned him, he wiped out the population ofMars in an extinction-level event known asH'ronmeer's Curse. Since then he has worked to finish this genocide by killing his brother, even taking his identity at times.
