Kendra Saunders is the third and current winged super-heroineHawkgirl. Originally she was a young woman who committed suicide, but when her soul soon learned that she was the niece ofShiera Sanders, the original Hawkgirl and, at the same time, a reincarnation ofChay-Ara, Kendra reborn to carry on the legacy of her great-aunt. She has been a member of theJustice League,Justice Society,Birds of Prey,Blackhawk Squadron,Council of Immortals,Guild of Detection, andTotality.
