TheFisherman is a super-villain andenemy toAquaman. Using a pressurized suit and high-tech equipment resembling fishing reels, he became an international criminal specializing in the theft of rare objects. This later made him develop a personal vendetta against Aquaman and theAquaman Family, having been thwarted so many times. It has been suggested inSword of Atlantis that Fisherman is not one person, but several men controlled by an alien parasite. He has been a member of theSecret Society of Super-Villains. TheFisherman was created byHenry Boltinoff andNick Cardy, first appearing inAquaman #21 (1965).
