Synopsis for "The Return of Planet Krypton"
Many decades beforeKrypton exploded, the planet was attacked by alien raiders and many of the planet's great cities were destroyed. Anticipating another attack, theKryptonian Science Council created a replica of Krypton to successfully throw off the raiders. When Krypton exploded, the artificial planet was knocked out of orbit and sent hurling through space. In the present, the imitation Krypton entersEarth’s solar system. Superman goes to investigate and encounters a group of Kryptonian soldiers, who explain that they had been stationed on the artificial planet in the event of another enemy raid when their homeworld was destroyed. Superman invites them to live among him and the people of Earth, but the Kryptonians refuse, stating that humans are inferior and therefore must be enslaved. After failing to talk them out of their plan to invade Earth, Superman pretends to comply and says that he will convince the people of Earth to surrender peacefully. However, Superman tricks the Kryptonians and eventually defeats them in combat, forcing them to retreat in a rocket ship. However, the rocket had not been calibrated to take off on a hollow planet and takes off too quickly, causing it to crash into one of Earth's neighboring planets. Superman is relieved that Earth is safe and a replica of his homeworld exists.
