Magnus Westerlund
Pronouns: he/him

Magnus Westerlund is a Master Researcher at Ericsson Researchbased in Stockholm, Sweden. He has worked on developing solutions andstandards for streaming media and real-time conversational services, general transport protocols forInternet and mobile networks since 2000, including RTSP, PSS, IMS and WebRTC.Currently focusing more on how to improve transport protocol performance inmobile networks.

He has been WG chair of the Audio Video Transport (AVT) working group, andtwo of its successor working groups (AVTCore and AVTExt), as well asReal-Time Communication in Web-browsers (RTCWeb) all active in the area ofprotocols for interactive real-time multi-media communication. He has beentransport area director twice during the periods 2006 - 2010 and 2019-2021.Magnus is since 2024 chair of Media over QUIC (MOQ) WG. Magnushas co-authored more than 30 published RFCs.

Magnus received his Master of Science in Computer Science from LuleåUniversity of Technology in 1999.
