pdftex – ATeX extension for direct creation of PDF
An extension ofTeX which can directly generate PDF documents as well as DVI output. All current freeTeX distributions includingTeX Live,MacTeX andMiKTeX include pdfTeX (PlainTeX) and pdfLaTeX (LaTeX), among many other formats based on the pdfTeX engine.
