Events will take place over the weekend of April 4th-6th, 2025 in College Park, MD.
We understand some people may only be able to make one or some of the events. That is perfectly fine and we want as many members and alumni as possible to be at as many events as you can. Please do not feel pressured to attend every event. Even if you can only come to one, please come and celebrate with us.
Friday April 4th, 2025
The firehouse will be open to all of our members and alumni, open-house style from 3PM-6PM. Please feel free to stop by and meet the riding members, see recent updates to the firehouse and take a look at the current apparatus.
The CPVFD will be hosting a welcome, happy-hour style event that will run from 6PM-10PM. This event will be limited to CPVFD members, alumni and their guests.
Saturday April 5th, 2025
The CPVFD will be hosting an antique fire apparatus muster from 10AM-2PM that will include current and former CPVFD apparatus. This event will be held in the parking lot to the rear of The Hotel (official event accommodation location) and The Hall restaurant and event space (immediately adjacent to the parking lot). This event is open to all CPVFD members, alumni, their guests and the public. Anybody planning on bringing/displaying apparatus must register for the event using this form:Click Here
The main anniversary event will be the CPVFD 100th Anniversary Banquet at The Hotel in College Park. This will be a formal dinner and awards banquet. This event is invite only for CPVFD members, alumni and guests and will require you to RSVP.
Sunday April 6th, 2025
The CPVFD will host a breakfast, good-bye and thank you event in the morning. This event will be limited to CPVFD members, alumni and their guests or other guests staying in our room block.
Travel Arrangements/Hotel Accommodations
BWI and DCA are the two closest airports if you are planning to fly into town.
Once you arrive in College Park, the 100th Anniversary Committee is arranging the weekend’s events so you can walk or be shuttled to and from all of our events as well as the firehouse (if that helps decision making when it comes to renting a car vs. ridesharing to and from the airport).
We assume that many members and alumni will be coming in from out of town to attend the weekend’s events. Due to the amount of members coming in and limited space, we ask that everyone try to plan accommodations that do not involve sleeping at the firehouse unless you are an active member that is providing staffing. That said, we want everyone to come and participate/celebrate with us. If anyone is coming into town and does not have the means to get a room at The Hotel or other place of lodging, let us know and we will try to help.
Wrap-Up
We will continue to communicate additional details about the weekend’s events, merchandise for sale, etc. as they come available.
Please continue to pass along information about the weekend’s events to any members and alumni of the CPVFD you have contact with. If they need to be added to the alumni email listserv or just wish to receive communications about the 100th anniversary weekend events, let us know and we will add them to those email lists.
