Discussion:

The classesbasic_stringstream (31.8.5[stringstream]),basic_istringstream (31.8.3[istringstream]), andbasic_ostringstream (31.8.4[ostringstream]) are inconsistentin their definition of the typetraits_type: Foristringstream, this type is defined, for the other two it isnot. This should be consistent.
