The terms “virtual function call” and “virtualcall” are used in the Standard but are not defined.
Proposed resolution (August, 2012):
Change 7.6.1.3 [expr.call] paragraph 1 as follows:
If the selected function is non-virtual, or if theid-expression in the class member access expression is aqualified-id, that function is called. Otherwise, its finaloverrider (11.7.3 [class.virtual]) in the dynamic type of theobject expression is called; such a call is referred to as avirtual function call.
