it's probably obvious to anyone who knows me, but i made noct and carol to suit my own tastes. i love boys who can look good in a skirt, i love guys who get flustered the second you turn their flirting back on them, i love exploring mental health and recovery and family, i love dating sims where the protagonist has their own personality and design better than self-insert protags. so this story is sort of an encapsulation of everything i liked

there were originally supposed to be more love interests, but i cut the others to be easier on myself. can't remember the concept for the others, though

i included this game in a bundle for racial equality and palestinian aid, thinking 'maybe this small game will help somehow,' but i wasn't expecting it to get thousands of downloads from it. i was so surprised when i got a huge jump in downloads overnight. even now, it's all but 1.06% of all my games downloaded, total. hoping one day that'll change, though

i had a lot of fun mixing up random state names to make up the location for this game

i'm super proud of the extras screen with all the bonus stories, even if i didn't figure out how to do a music room or gallery

i really liked the theme of how important the main characters' families are to them. i really regret not doing more with the dating sim info character thing, though, and i don't remember why i made up a weird adoption subplot rather than having the nieces... just be nieces? or cousins? whatever though i love them all

originally, i was going to make a sequel to this game featuring the daughter of the cafe owners, but i've been procrastinating on it for four years...
