Neat! I was having a lot of trouble jumping on the platforms until I finally managed to see my character in double. Then I realized I needed to get the left one of them on the platform. I think maybe I was sometimes seeing (or focusing on) the left one and sometimes the right one earlier, which is why I was struggling? Is this something other people experience?
Kinda funny also how my eyes realized they needed to refocus right at the end to be able to hit the star.
What a good idea! I always wondered if these "magic eye" pictures could be animated, or if that would destroy the effect of the seeming flatness of the picture as you first see it. If the "magic" parts were moving, you wouldn't have to focus your eyes to see them. Anyway, cool project -- might be worth it for you to play with the concept a little further. :)
In a slightly similar idea, there is this other game where the graphics are made purely out of static noise. Yet, you can clearly see the platforms and hazards.
It's called "Lost in the Static":https://silverspaceship.com/static/
here's a page I wrote about the game for Indiepocalypse, it mentions methods for seeing the hidden images:https://i.imgur.com/65eIWIh.png
