Biography[]
Born in Katy, Texas, Zellweger studied at the University of Texas and began acting in commercials before making appearances in arthouse and indie films. Her first mainstream role came in1994 but it was her appearance inJerry Maguire that gained international recognition, followed by an acclaimed performance as the titular character in theBridget Jones series.
After gaining two Academy Award nominations in a row, Zellweger appeared in a variety of films ranging fromCinderella Man andMiss Potter to animated fares such asShark Tale andBee Movie.
