Lily Collins is the daughter of English musician Phil Collins and his second wife, Jill Tavelman, an American who is the former president of the Beverly Hills Women's Club.[1]
She has had leading roles in films such as the sci-fi action-horror filmPriest (2011), the psychological action-thrillerAbduction (2011), and the fantasy filmMirror Mirror (2012) in the role of Snow White.
In 2013, she received wider recognition after taking on the role of Clary Fray in the fantasy filmThe Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, for which she was nominated for the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actress – Action and an MTV Movie Award. She is also known for her roles in independent films, such as the romantic comedy-dramaStuck in Love (2012), the romantic comedyThe English Teacher (2013), and the romantic comedy-dramaLove, Rosie (2014).[2]
Recently, she portrayed Fantine in BBC's adaptation ofLes Misérables, Ted Bundy's girlfriend Liz Kendall inExtremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile and Edith inTolkien.[2]
Collins is also a published author. In 2017, she published her first book 'Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me', where she makes several revelations about her life, including her battle with an eating disorder. The struggle helped her work on theNetflix film "To The Bone", which was about a young girl battling anorexia nervosa.[2]
