English: DNA Polymerase delta replaces and displaces the RNA primer of the previous Okazaki fragment (plus additional DNA nucleotides past the RNA primer). FEN1 excises the RNA primer flap. DNA Polymerase delta releases the lagging strand. Ligase binds to PCNA and seals the nick left by DNA Polymerase delta. The clamp unloading complex RLC displaces FEN1 and LIgase from PCNA and opens PCNA, unclamping it from the lagging strand.
