I have just added an entry toCommons:Requested updates to protected images.

@COAmaker17: Please understand that the recent rollbacks toFile:Flag of Honduras.svg were done for multiple valid reasons:

1. A certain user uploaded a new image without properly explaining why. He or she uploaded the same image 5 times without ever engaging in a discussion on the file's talk page; this is why the file had to be put into a protected state.
2. The same user repeatedly corrupted many of the links on the page such that they did not match their captions.
3. The same user repeatedly removed the flag from the SVG Flags of Honduras category and placed it into a non-existent category.
4. Also, there was initially an expectation (from me) that the flag atpresidencia.gob.hn would be promptly updated by the government as proof of the change. Ultimately it appears the old government simply removed the domain name from DNS and made the entire website go away. Not cool. Clearly my expectations were too high.

So yes, it is not surprising that the page went though lots of rollbacks by lots of people. Please don't assume that those involved in the rollbacks are against a colour change.MapGrid (talk)23:37, 7 February 2022 (UTC)

(I still don’t feel home at Commons and this is my 1st request in this workshop.)

In April 2021w:Microsoft published a set of 5 new fonts and announced to replace Microsoft Office’s default fontw:Calibri with one of those. The fonts are already available in Microsoft 365 (Office in the cloud).^[1]

I’d like to have a set of specimen, maybe like the ones above.

I am not sure whether PNG or SVG would be better. SVG is usually better but part of the C* fonts’ and the upcoming fonts’ value is their enhanced use ofw:ClearType. Is it possible to fix up this coat of arms a little, (here (p. 9) is how it should look. Now there are some flaws:

1. There's wrong type of crown.
2. Bottom of the shield isn't pointy and while it looks like that in a source provided, I think it was just accidently cropped.
3. Some weird stains on the beak, crown and talons
4. It would be good to revectorize the edges of eagle and shield itself, they kinda look bad when zoomed in

However do not change colours. Even if they are different on the official document, on the very next page (10) there are specifications on the exact shades of colors white and red, which after conversion to SRGB are #E9E8E7 and #D4213D. (You can change them if in the svg file there are different colors, but for me it seems just like the SRGB colors I gave). For this same reason I would leave yellow same. • Pre-2021 version: Gold part of badge needs slight scaling and centering so the arms properly touch the silver border. Note the very slight lack of symmetry.
• Post-2021 version:Compare with this design uploaded directly from the U.S. Dept. of Defense website. The post-2021 SVG image is an altered version of the pre-2021 version, but the alterations only amount to adding the third sword haphazardly, which isn't completely accurate. The gold crest inside the silver border needs to ever-so-slightly be rescaled and centred, and the middle sword to cover the area where the top silver circle is now. The area just above that needs to be reshaped to match the new version. • I think CropTool can do it (if file is on Commons).
• If not, GIMP should handle this task (unsure about Photoshop).
• Re-saving in GIF is what CropTool will do I believe, and it will be lossless.
• From GIMP, save in PNG if you want it to be lossless, or in JPEG if smaller file is more a priority for you.

First (1st) of all thank you very muh@TilmannR:, excuse the late reply, I missed this ping and just saw this request when I wanted to add a zoomed in version of the Great Seal here. The issue with Nguyễn Dynasty seals is not only that they inconsistently write the same characters radically different on different seals, its that they use unorthodox forms of Chinese calligraphy that is simply impossible to find online, even standard reference websites like Hanziyuan that often contain dozens of Chinese seal script variants don't seem to have these. Unfortunately in case of this seal no versions seem to exist online outside of the Wikimedia Commons as I got it from a pirated book that's only for sale in specialised bookstores in Hanoi.

Going over your question marks from top to bottom, regarding the top blue question mark at the seal script character "Bình" (平) is that it's most likely a closed box but that the ink wasn't pressed deeply enough to make it.The only other print of this seal I've seen has it covered up by a black Chinese character, but this image does clear up some other questions you had like with the character"đốc" (督) "Quan" (關). It does not say they are required, but it also does not specify a default. The SVG 1.1 DTD (https://www.w3.org/Graphics/SVG/1.1/svgdtd.html) is clear that the two attributes are#REQUIRED. The x-axis of this chart is uneven, first two bars are 1650-1775 which span 125 years, while the second and third last bars are 1863-1867 spanning only 4 years, however the presentation and trend line made this data look like a continuous exponential growing trend from 1650. Wait, I just realized the graph's data seems to have problem.

On the opening paragraph it gave the data point of China opium import in some years.

According to the chest conversation rate printed on the old chart image, the data would be:

• 1729, 12.7 tons
• 1800, 286 tons
• 1838, 2540 tons
• 1858, 4445 tons

Other than the dispersion of year 1800 data, such value also mean that it wasn't growing linearly before 1800, and that is also not a smoothed grow around year 1858.

In view of such new observation that I were not aware of when making the request, should the chart be:

• Plotted in log scale to reflect the changes from earlier part of the graph
• Include these new data points
• And be plotted in bar chart with appropriate spacing instead of a line chart

@C933103: The new data points have been added. I believe using a log scale and bars would reduce the legibility. Bars could be misinterpreted as there being many years without any imports (i.e. with bars of height 0) between years with imports. Using a log scale would put a lot of emphasis on the changes before 1800, but I think the whole point of the diagram is that the pre-1800 imports were all negligible compared to the 6500 tons in 1880.TilmannR (talk)00:53, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

In the file description we can read: ,,A simplified flag of the historical Pakistani state of Dir.The flag also contains text in Arabic, but I couldn't find a high-resolution source.`` The file was made based on the information fromthere,this source mentions the red version,this Italian website confirms both projects. The flag without inscriptions is not confirmed by any source known to me, but sometimes it appears as an illustration, however, appears information about the missing text. Juding from[39], it looks like Lübeck Linie might be using a 5:3 flag. I am not sure which one is correct, so here you go, some additional Lübeck Linie flags. --痛 (talk)13:56, 6 May 2022 (UTC)

The flag of the Lübeck line (LL) is not shown in any photo I know. The different pictures vary in detail, but the link at the beginning is from the 1930s, while crwflags refer to the description. The modern APL logo may be copyrighted, but the eagle was made in 1938. Possible, but it may be a printing error. I've also seen a version similar to the one on the bowl on the cover of the book, but I can't find it today. For now, I consider the version with the white line to be better.Swiãtopôłk (talk)17:07, 6 May 2022 (UTC)

• I drew the APL flag from scratch. Personally I consider it to be eligible for Commons, for its relatively simplistic shape plus APL's affiliation with the US government at the time of the creation. But I guess if there's a complaint then just delete it then... 🤷🏻痛 (talk)03:28, 7 May 2022 (UTC)

@TilmannR: You cannot use full scale red00 100% red, in RGB-world, for a dye.

RGB red 100% is out of gamut for printed/dyed colors.

For your flag, you shall use instead a valid dye (as represented in RGB color) to be viewed on screen.

Choosing your color depends of your source(s), and the manner to approximate printed/photographed/designed/viewed/... color.

Red is NOT 100% RGB red, as green is NOT 100% RGB green, and blue is NOT 100% RGB blue.

Thanks. The first file came out well. However the second one hasn't, it looks quite rough on the edges (I got the same result with the software I used). Maybe a better type of software needs to be used for that second image. • Cunard's lion looks great, but the background should be solid red, sorry I didn't write that the exemplase in the museum is faded.
• ELMA should be in a similar shade of blue to the argentina flag.
• Clyde Shipping C. no problem if you are unable to reproduce difficult details. There should be no double windows at the top of the tower, the lines on the stone should be wider and the color of the whole less harsh (use #3C3D6D).
