Adnan Pachachi (Arabic: عدنان الباجه جي), born on 1923 May 14 in Baghdad, was a member of the Iraqi Governing Council. On June 1, 2004, he was reportedly nominated to be the next President of Iraq. He chose to turn down the post, stating that he refused to be seen as a "puppet" of the United States.
