Character History[]

First Season[]

Prior to the start of the series, Sawazaki fled to theChinese Federation after Japan surrendered toBritannia, forming a government-in-exile. After the civil unrest caused byZero, he announces the resurrection of Japan from theFukuoka Base, Kyushu. He along withGeneral Tsao plan on using Kyushu as a starting point to take back Japan. However,Suzaku Kururugi'sLancelot and Zero'sGawain manage to take the Base and capture the minister while he tries to flee away back to the Chinese Federation. He is last seen taken in custody with other former members of the Japanese Government by the Britannian forces. He was later executed by them for his actions.

Etymology[]

• The nameAtsushi means "kindness, honesty/honest" (敦).
• Atsushi's surnameSawazaki means "marsh" (澤) (sawa) and "cape, peninsula" (崎) (saki/zaki).

Trivia[]

• His surname was pronouncedSawasaki in the anime, but later renamed asSawazaki in Oz the Reflection.
