Problem Solving:

  • Crux Mathematicorum (CRUX) – Since 1975, this professionally-published periodical has been an internationally respected source of unique and challenging mathematical problems. Designed primarily for the secondary and undergraduate levels, and also containing some pre-secondary material, it has been referred to as “the best problem solving journal in the world”.  Free online.  Ten issues per year.
  • A-Taste-Of-Mathematics (ATOM) – This series of 17 booklets is now freely available online.  They are designed to provide enrichment materials for pre-university students, and their teachers, who have an interest in mathematics. Some booklets in the series  cover materials for mathematical competitions at national and international levels, while other booklets  cover topics of broad interest to students and teachers such as puzzle collections, applications of mathematics, as well as treatises through a historical, social, or cultural lens.

Society & Math Community News:

  • CMS Notes – CMS Notes is the official newsletter of the Canadian Mathematical Society.  It features articles on research, education, meetings, book reviews, calendar of events, awards and calls for nominations, news from math departments and institutions and employment opportunities. The editorial team welcomes your comments, suggestions, and submissions.

    CMS Notes is an online-only publication and is published six times a year (February, March/April, June, September, October/November and December). Please visit thedeadlines page to know the date that content submissions are due for each issue.
  • MathMatters – Weekly compendium of news of interest to the Canadian Mathematical Community.  Free access.
  • CMath – Announcement email list for the wider Canadian mathematical community (includesMathMatters).
