SYNOPSIS
gcloud compute instances add-tagsINSTANCE_NAME--tags=TAG,[TAG,…][--zone=ZONE][GCLOUD_WIDE_FLAG]
DESCRIPTION
gcloud compute instances add-tags is used to add tags to ComputeEngine virtual machine instances.

Tags can be used to identify the instances when adding network firewall rules.Tags can also be used to get firewall rules that already exist to be applied tothe instance. Seegcloud computefirewall-rules create(1) for more details.

To list instances with their respective status and tags, run:

gcloudcomputeinstanceslist--format="table(name,status,tags.list())"

To list instances tagged with a specific tag,tag1, run:

gcloudcomputeinstanceslist--filter='tags:tag1'
EXAMPLES
To add tagstag-1 andtag-2 to an instance namedtest-instance, run:
gcloudcomputeinstancesadd-tagstest-instance--tags=tag-1,tag-2
POSITIONAL ARGUMENTS
INSTANCE_NAME
Name of the instance to set tags on. For details on valid instance names, referto the criteria documented under the field 'name' at:https://cloud.google.com/compute/docs/reference/rest/v1/instances
REQUIRED FLAGS
--tags=TAG,[TAG,…]
Specifies strings to be attached to the instance for later identifying theinstance when adding network firewall rules. Multiple tags can be attached byrepeating this flag.
OPTIONAL FLAGS
--zone=ZONE
Zone of the instance to set tags on. If not specified, you might be prompted toselect a zone (interactive mode only).gcloud attempts to identify theappropriate zone by searching for resources in your currently active project. Ifthe zone cannot be determined,gcloud prompts you for a selection withall available Google Cloud Platform zones.

To avoid prompting when this flag is omitted, the user can set thecompute/zone property:

gcloudconfigsetcompute/zoneZONE

A list of zones can be fetched by running:

gcloudcomputezoneslist

To unset the property, run:

gcloudconfigunsetcompute/zone

Alternatively, the zone can be stored in the environment variableCLOUDSDK_COMPUTE_ZONE.

GCLOUD WIDE FLAGS
These flags are available to all commands:--access-token-file,--account,--billing-project,--configuration,--flags-file,--flatten,--format,--help,--impersonate-service-account,--log-http,--project,--quiet,--trace-token,--user-output-enabled,--verbosity.
