Method: projects.metrics.update

Creates or updates a logs-based metric.

PUT https://logging.googleapis.com/v2/{metricName=projects/*/metrics/*}

The URL usesgRPC Transcoding syntax.

Path parameters

Parameters
metricName

string

Required. The resource name of the metric to update:

"projects/[PROJECT_ID]/metrics/[METRIC_ID]"

The updated metric must be provided in the request and it'sname field must be the same as[METRIC_ID] If the metric does not exist in[PROJECT_ID], then a new metric is created.

Authorization requires the followingIAM permission on the specified resourcemetricName:

  • logging.logMetrics.update

Request body

The request body contains an instance ofLogMetric.

Response body

If successful, the response body contains an instance ofLogMetric.

Authorization scopes

Requires one of the following OAuth scopes:

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/logging.write
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/logging.admin
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/cloud-platform
