Friendly. Engaging. Comprehensible.
All my life, there have really only been two things that I’m good at—stringing together words on a page, and understanding science. Thirty years later, I’m finally putting them together. A graduate of the Johns Hopkins Masters in Science and Medical Writing program, I specialize in breaking down complicated ideas and explaining them in ways that are both easy and fun to read.
When not working on science writing, I also enjoy dabbling in fantasy and science fiction. I’m also responsible for several highly-rated sourcebooks for tabletop role-playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons.
“Charles has a gift for making science accessible… his talents can’t be confined to a single genre.”
Sam Apple, program coordinator as Johns Hopkins.
For this new edition of William Cohen’s 2007 textbook, I rewrote the entire book from scratch, turning a dense and technical text into an engaging read for anyone looking to plunge into the world of cells and proteins.
