2026 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Review
The Mercedes-AMG SL Roadster is a satisfying luxury grand tourer, but it appeals largely to buyers who can afford to spend a minimum of about $115,000 for a second or third car. The top Maybach trim nearly doubles the cost to roughly $225,000. The SL is offered with a variety of strong powertrains, including a turbocharged four-cylinder mild-hybrid, twin-turbocharged V8s and even a plug-in hybrid. No matter the engine, the SL excels on the open road, with a pro-level blend of comfort, power, refinement and luxury. Just don’t expect any sort of practicality from this soft-top convertible.

2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE Plug-In Hybrid Review
The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE 450e is a two-rowplug-in hybrid SUV that has seen no major changes since debuting for the 2024 model year. Cost-wise, it sits right in the middle of the GLE lineup. The GLE Plug-In Hybrid pairs a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and a 23.3-kWh battery pack that enables the SUV to drive up to 49 miles on electricity alone. Rated at 381 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, the GLE PHEV is quick off the line, but the hybrid system's added weight is noticeable compared with the gas-only GLEs.

2026 Volvo XC90 Review
The 2026 Volvo XC90 is a sophisticated take on a three-row mild-hybrid SUV. It sits above Volvo’s bestsellingXC60 compact SUV as Volvo’s flagship offering alongside the new all-electricEX90. Volvo has steadily updated this generation of the XC90 since it debuted in 2016, and it’s fresh off improvements to the infotainment system, suspension, aesthetics and powertrains. It still looks fantastic and is one of the most refined luxury family vehicles you can buy. However, there are several formidable competitors that excel in their own ways, including theGenesis GV80,Lincoln Aviator,Lexus TX andAudi Q7.

2026 Subaru Solterra Review
TheSolterra launched for 2023 as Subaru’s first fully electric vehicle, but thanks in part to divisive styling and poor electric range, sales never took off. For 2026, Subaru hopes to resolve some of the compact SUV’s issues by redesigning the Solterra inside and out, as well as equipping it with a larger battery pack for more power and better electric driving range.
The Solterra, developed alongside the Toyota bZ (formerly thebZ4X), is now a more well-rounded package, but it still fails to stand out in any meaningful way beyond its standard all-wheel drive and excellent list of standard features. New XT trims are more powerful and quicker off the line, but theTesla Model Y,Ford Mustang Mach-E andHyundai Ioniq 5 remain better options.

2026 Honda Civic Type R Review
The 2026 Honda Civic Type R and itsAcura Integra Type S counterpart are two of the greatest front-wheel-drive cars ever made. The Type R combines a dialed-in chassis and a powerful turbo-four with the practicality of aCivic hatchback. The result is a legendary racer that can still be a family car. On top of that, it’s one of the last remaining vehicles available with a manual transmission, and the classy interior makes for one of the best Civic cabins we’ve ever seen.

2026 Acura Integra Type S Review
The 2026 Acura Integra Type S is the high-performance version of the four-doorIntegra liftback. With theNSX andTLX Type S out of the picture, it serves as Acura’s halo vehicle by default, alongside theMDX Type S SUV. It’s equipped with a 320-horsepower engine (upgraded from the base Integra’s 200 horses), front-wheel drive and a rev-matching six-speed manual transmission. Its more subdued exterior is a perfect alternative to the more divisive styling of theHonda Civic Type R, plus it’s a more practical option than luxury competitors like theAudi S3 or the priceyLexus IS 500.

2026 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Review
The 2026 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross sits between typical subcompact crossovers and compact crossovers in size, placing it in two of the fiercest and most saturated segments in the auto market. Even when new, the Eclipse Cross didn’t stand out against bestsellers like theToyota RAV4 andHonda CR-V, or class leaders like theHyundai Tucson andMazda CX-5. It offers unique styling and a spacious cabin, but struggles to keep up with the leaders of the pack.
