Yuzo (Japanese:ユウゾウYūzō) is a recurring character inPokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl. He is one ofProfessor Rowan's fourassistants who first appeared inFollowing A Maiden's Voyage!.

History

Yuzo debuted inFollowing A Maiden's Voyage!. He was taking care of thePokémon at the lab inSandgem Town while Rowan was out, when a fight broke out between thePiplup and theChimchar reserved for a beginningTrainer. Things became even more disorganized after aStaraptor was accidentally attacked and it began to useWhirlwind inside the lab. Yuzo began to worry what Professor Rowan would say. He was going to attempt to clean the lab up when Rowan returned with the new Trainer,Dawn.

It was revealed that hisfirst Pokémon was aStarly, and his brother's (sister in the English dub) was aBidoof.

Yuzo appeared fromCamping It Up! toOne Team, Two Team, Red Team, Blue Team! as one of the teachers at Professor Rowan'sPokémon Summer Academy. His duties included handing everyone theirrental Pokémon and refereeing several events, including thePokémon Triathlon.

InDPS01, Yuzo was seen outside Professor Rowan's lab studying aShinx. He was then seen bidding farewell toDawn on her journey toHoenn.

Yuzo'sStarly has never appeared but has only been mentioned, it is unknown if he still has it or not. WhenProfessor Rowan's assistants were examining a Starly andStaraptor, Yuzo said that he was a big fan of Starly and it was the first Pokémon he obtained on his journey, with the other assistant stating that his was aBidoof.

None of Starly's moves are known.
