Yukito (Japanese:ユキノシタYukinoshita) andHideko (Japanese:ヒエHie), more commonly referred to simply asGrandpa (おじいさんGrandpa) andGrandma (おばあさんGrandma), are characters introduced inThe Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. They live together inKitakami with their grandchildren,Kieran andCarmine. They are the only characters with theTrainer classesGrandpa (Japanese:おじいさんGrandfather) andGrandma (Japanese:おばあさんGrandmother), respectively.
In the core series games
The Teal Mask
Yukito and Hideko live inMossui Town. Yukito descends from a long line of mask makers. He tells theplayer andCarmine the true story regardingOgerpon and theLoyal Three, which was a secret passed down in his family. Later, he helps them repair Ogerpon'sTeal Mask.
When first meeting the player, Hideko gives them theTeal Style Card, allowing them to access morestyles and clothing options. She also provides the player withthree varieties ofjinbei after the main story of The Teal Mask has been completed.
Mochi Mayhem
Kieran and the player meet Yukito and Hideko at the entrance toKitakami Hall while searching forNemona. During the conversation, Hideko insists Yukito have some mochi that she is offering. Eating it, Yukito, like his wife, falls underPecharunt's control and battles the two children alongside her. Once the player hascaught Pecharunt, Yukito and Hideko, like everyone else controlled by Pecharunt, return to normal.
