Living in theIlex Forest, Yosaku makesCharcoal and provides it toTrainers who are passing through. He is helped out bySylvester (his employee in the Japanese version, his son in the English dub), who attempted to seek Yosaku's help when hisFarfetch'd refused to listen to him. However, Yosaku simply told Sylvester that he should find and train the Farfetch'd on his own.

He was also seen giving a large amount of Charcoal toAsh andhis friends after they had saved Sylvester's Farfetch'd and helped Sylvester to command it correctly.
