Pokémon the Series

Wulfric inPokémon the Series: XY

Wulfric debuted inAll Hail the Ice Battlefield!, where Ash battled him in an attempt to earn his eighth Kalos GymBadge. Despite only using two Pokémon to battle Ash's three, Wulfric emerged victorious. Wulfric then explained that Ash is not having enough trust in his bond withGreninja, which left the latter in serious doubt.

InA Real Icebreaker!, Ash, having gotten over a subsequent bout of depression from Wulfric's explanation, challenged him to arematch. This time, Ash put up a much better fight, eventually leaving both sides with one Pokémon each: Ash's Greninja standing up against Wulfric'sAbomasnow. With its now-perfected Ash-Greninja form, Greninja was easily able to gain an upper hand in the battle. However, Wulfric then suddenlyMega Evolved his Abomasnow, giving it a massive power boost. Despite this, Ash was eventually able to win the battle, earning him theIceberg Badge.

Wulfric appeared in a fantasy inA League of His Own!, when Ash was talking toEverett about the Gym Leaders that he had defeated in Kalos, in order for him to be able to compete in theLumiose Conference.

InA Towering Takeover!, Wulfric was seen in theWinding Woods, watchingLysandre's broadcast fromLumiose City while being surrounded by somewild Pokémon in the forest. InRocking Kalos Defenses! andForming a More Perfect Union!, Wulfric and Abomasnow were among those who helped destroy theGiant Rock.

Wulfric reappeared in a flashback inTill We Compete Again!.

Character

Wulfric is a determined Gym Leader in battles, to the point when he even becomes slightly impatient. He likes when his challenger is motivated and driven through the battle and wants to see their fiery, burning passion. Wulfric believes progress and victories can be achieved if the Trainer really trusts their Pokémon. He wants to see this during the battle and sometimes changes his strategy to see such passion. Wulfric has a slight speaking problem, sometimes saying, "You know..." when describing something.

Ash's next choice wasGreninja, who soon gained an upper hand on Abomasnow and turned into its Ash-Greninja form, overpowering Abomasnow even further. Wulfric then revealed that Abomasnow was capable ofMega Evolving and triggered the process, making Ash-Greninja's opponent a Mega Abomasnow. Wulfric in Pokémon Adventures

Wulfric debuted inPyroar Breathes. He, the other Kalos Gym Leaders,Y,Trevor,Tierno, andShauna traveled toGeosenge Town to confrontTeam Flare. Shortly after they arrived, the group witnessed theultimate weapon emerging from underground like a flower bud. To prevent the weapon from blooming, the Gym Leaders and Y used their bodies to keep the petals in place by force, but were met with interference byBryony.

The ultimate weapon eventually fired, but the combined efforts of the Gym Leaders and their allies successfully weakened the weapon enough to make it unable to take any innocent lives. Using her newly-obtainedXerneas,Xerxer, Y tried to destroy the ultimate weapon, but was interrupted byMalva and herYveltal. Due to Xerneas and Yveltal being evenly matched,Xerosic announced thatLysandre ordered a ceasefire. Xerxer confirmed this and retreated, taking Y and the others with it.

InPinsir Glares, Ramos revealed that Team Flare blamed the destruction caused by the ultimate weapon on the Gym Leaders and theVaniville children. X and his friends were advised to keep out of the public's eye while the Gym Leaders helped rebuild the damaged areas. InXerneas Gives, Wulfric,Grant,Ramos,Valerie, andOlympia helped stop Team Flare's attempt to reactivate the ultimate weapon by defeating a group of Grunts that were stationed aroundCyllage City. After Team Flare was fully defeated, Wulfric and his allies met with X and his friends atLumiose City to congratulate them on their victory.
