Waterfalls are a type of aquatic obstacle appearing in thecore seriesgames inGenerations II toVI andPokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. To get past them, theplayer must have aPokémon use thefield moveWaterfall.
In Generations II andIII, the field move Waterfall is only required to ascend waterfalls, not descend them. FromGeneration IV onwards, the move is required to both ascend and descend waterfalls.
