AWaiter (Japanese:ウエーターWaiter) is a type ofPokémon Trainer that debuted in theGeneration IV games. They are generally depicted as young men in typical waiter clothing. They are the male counterpart ofWaitresses.

In the Generation IV games andPokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Trainers from the Waiter class are generally rare and those that want to battle can be only be found in theBattle Tower and theBattle Frontier. There are no other Trainers from the Waiter class outside these locations that will challenge the player to a battle. A Waiter also welcomes the player into theSeven Stars Restaurant, but he cannot be battled.

InPokémon Legends: Z-A, Waiters often useFire-type andWater-type Pokémon, or Pokémon associated with food.

InGeneration VI, a similar Trainer class is introduced under the name ofGarçon.
