Vacuum Wave inflicts damage. It has apriority of +1, so it is used before all moves that do not have increased priority.

- This move's Japanese name, しんくうはshinkūha, is a reference to a ninja technique ubiquitous in manga, anime, and other fiction commonly known in English asvacuum wave. A popular example of this is theNaruto series orMegami Tensei franchise.
- Despite being able to learn it by level up in these games,Scyther cannot learn this move byMove Tutor in PokémonPlatinum,HeartGold, orSoulSilver.
