TheUltra Rangers (Japanese:ウルトラレンジャーUltra Rangers) are a group ofcharacters of the day who appeared in a flashback inBattling the Beast Within!. They were residents of theUltra Ruin, an alternate dimension that was devastated by the appearance of theUltra BeastGuzzlord.
WhenAsh andPikachu found themselves transported to the Ultra Ruin, they encounteredDia, a former Ultra Ranger. He informed them that his world had come under attack by Guzzlord in the past. The Ultra Rangers had attempted to defeat Guzzlord with their Pokémon, only for them all to be defeated by it.
