Map description
A small town with the fresh scent of new leaves in the air. It feels like a place where adventures start. Your own home and your best friend's house are located here.
Twinleaf Town (Japanese:フタバタウンFutaba Town) is situated in the southwestern part of theSinnohregion. It is the hometown of the Sinnohanplayer character and theirrival,Barry, and the first town known to the player in the games. It is also the nearest town toLake Verity, referred to by residents as their local lake. North of the town liesRoute 201, a junction which leads toVerity Lakefront to the west, andSandgem Town to the east.
In the southern borderline of trees of the town sits a small pond where anOdd Keystone can be found, where the player cansurf to reach it.
This is the house where theplayer lives before beginning their journey. Theplayer's mother lives here, and after the player has left town for the first time, going home and talking to her will fully rest/restore all the player's Pokémon, just like aPokémon Center.
There are two levels to the house, the first being a living room and kitchen area, while upstairs on the second level is the player's bedroom. It contains aWii controlled with aWii Remote, connected to atelevision, and aPC which reads:"Pokémon Basics... People live alongside Pokémon in this world. The people that battle Pokémon are called Pokémon Trainers." Due to the PC no longer having the item storage functionality,Lucas orDawn's PC only gives hints on how to play the game. A sign on the wall next to the stairs reads:
This is the house where the player's rival and his mother reside in. Like the player's house, there are two levels, the first being a living room and kitchen area, while upstairs on the second level is the rival's bedroom.

The town was shown again inMemories are Made of Bliss!, where the group arrived there after resuming their journey through Sinnoh. At the end of the episode, Ash andBrock boarded aship sailing towards theKantoregion. As observed by Ash, Twinleaf Town is very similar toPallet Town, having dirt trails and wide, open grass fields. InDPS01, Dawn chose to leave Twinleaf as well and compete in Pokémon Contests inHoenn.
InStopping Sableye, Diamond returned to Twinleaf Town on his way to protectMesprit atLake Verity fromTeam Galactic. As he stopped by at his home, he found a note left by his mother, informing him that she had left to gatherBerries at Lake Verity. Alarmed, Diamond immediately headed to the lake to alert his mother of the impending danger.
Twinleaf Town made a cameo inAll About Arceus IX, depicting the beginning of theDiamond & Pearl arc from Johanna's perspective.
